I’ve never heard of that and I'm a NY native.
Referencing the square headlights in the round holes I assume. AMC also did this on the Concord/Spirit/Eagles. All based off the Hornet from 1971
In the later years AMC went to the Power Bulge hood only. I want to say 85 but not 100% sure. Also look into AMC and their vinyl tops. The monstrosity the did with the 2dr Concord is a nightmare

Kind of. The motors and battery seem to be the biggest repairs. That's like an engine swap and fuel system on a normal vehicle. Expensive but not unheard of.
Kudos to the dealership, but can we all just appreciate the fact that he sells (well sold) Toyotas for a minute? “Yeah I don’t like dem der foreigners. Now where's my check from selling Japanese cars?" JTDC.

What are they worried about? If they wreck just send Jeff down to the local dealer and buy another Mustang/Camaro/Charger. It can be prepped and caged easily by the next race.
True. If they had been early to the market or even first, the sales would be fine. But now? It's a less useful truck than several other options and it costs more.
Cue old person Cadillac joke here.
