There’s a small, rebellious, angry section of my brain that wants me to hang up my hat on this show with the removal of Ray. It’s such a stupid, wildly wrong move. Brandon’s Ray is the heart of the show, and it’s more evident than ever in episodes like this.

I was more than a bit disappointed to see she’s a “special guest star” that they’ve setup to be slot in whenever Picard gives her a call. The advertising certainly made it seem like she was going to be a bit more involved than that.

Hmm. Eeh, alright. I’m fine hand-waving this away as “unique temporal mechanics problems that only Dr. Manhattan has”. Stuff that side-steps our usual understanding (if largely fictional at the moment) of time travel ideas. Kind of refreshing, I think. 😏

Joelle mentioned it, but yeah, a very unsatisfying resolution to the “inevitable” tragedy looming 10 years in the future: a racist with a future-gun slowly moving in the background.

This was the episode that made me actually LIKE the characters from the flash-forwards. That’s been a hard nut to crack for me, but I’m glad to see it happen.

“Poop with me, Tony!”

I thought about that, actually. But these aren’t like, random thugs. Sure, maybe she could have unloaded into Janice, but the two in the back were probably already ready primed to pounce. I doubt she could have taken all three out, even if she had any advantages. (Believably, I mean. The writers can make her do

I saw Kate Mulgrew recently give an interview about her time on Voyager, and in combination with an interview I had once seen Jeri Ryan give years ago, I get the sense that off-screen the two of them never really got along well.

Cleavon Little fared pretty well. You never know. 😏

Chronica 3 is going to be Earth and set up season 7 isn’t it?

Probably because a) it vents their full anger pseudo-anonymously, and b) well... it works. General, angry criticism can be ignored if need be, but “I’m going to burn your house down at 291 West Ave while your family is asleep” tends to upset people pretty badly.

I can’t deny it’s an even more visually stunning show than usual... absolutely beautiful work. And, of course, the show’s cast is legendary...

It wrote it itself, though. Unless there’s a secret, human hand giving Control a push. 🤔

Obviously we have at least one episode left where this can magically be resolved and “make sense”. Or maybe they won’t directly resolve it, and it will lead into “Discovery’s wacky time travel sphere-data adventures” for Season 3.

Mostly a fun, terrific episode as always.

Finding out this season of Supergirl was going to tackle social/political issues head-on had me kind of terrified. The show is not exactly well known for it’s subtlety when confronting those themes, and they would tend to shoot themselves in the foot, despite meaning well, when they did try.

But I gotta say, they’ve

**snicker** ;)

Aye. There’s every bit as much room for epic space adventure on a show like this as there is time to slow down and examine ourselves.
