Jesus Christ, when will the E-class platform myth stop? It used components like, brakes, suspension components, transmission, etc. but it did not use the platform. Parts do not make for a platform. It’s not a W211 in disguise. But hey, if I’m wrong, I’ll gladly admit it. I have both, a Magnum R/T and an E320 CDi. Both

I could write an entire article on how to not be miserable buying a car, but I’ll sum it up here:

I love this. But I’d rather keep $15k in my pocket. I’d go $10k.

I will admit, this made me laugh.

This is such a bad analogy. If I use energy to charge my vehicle, then only one vehicle benefits, but Google AI can tell millions, maybe billions of people how much glue to put on their pizzas. It’s a matter of scale. And glue.

With how much better modern cars have gotten, I bet the list of unreliable 3-year-old cars is shorter than this one. It feels like almost anything less than ~5 years old will be as reliable as the previous owner wanted it to be (even a Toyota can get killed by an owner who ignores all maintenance & recalls).

This will be the most unpopular thing I’ll say today: I can’t put on mass. I was 130lbs when I graduated from high school in 1988. I’m 130lbs today. I go to the gym, I ride, I run, I hike and climb... I just can’t build mass.

I feel like most cars will last you 3 years without issues...Well maybe Alfa

I was hit by a car and it broke my collarbone.

My boss was hit by drunk driver and it broke his ankle and gave him a concussion.

My father’s boss was hit by a car and was killed.

I have a hard time bringing myself to bike anywhere nowadays.

This incident wasn’t caused by a lack of infrastructure. It’s clear from the video that if the cyclists hadn’t been on the road the driver would have slammed into the vehicle that taped the incident. It was a drunk that was looking at his phone or something other than the road.

should have every right to be on the road where legally allowed”

A couple of years ago I traded time and distance away for safety. My route now adds about two kilometers to my ride but it’s far safer.

I’m shocked you continue to put your life in the hands of those same people every day.

You can’t fix stupid, and this country has too much of it. I believe that ideally they should have every right to be on the road where legally allowed. But we don’t live in an ideal world, and if you value your life, you will not ride on roads where you can get hit by 4,000 pound objects with idiot controlling them.

I’m not going to watch the video. I’ve been these cyclists and I don’t need to relive my experience.

I agree, and let me preface this by saying this is in no way the cyclists fault, this is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but cyclists should not be in the road if there is no bike lane or in an area with sidewalks that are rarely used. From looking at the video, this looks to be a feeder/frontage road, speed

More aggressive driving, distracted driving and larger vehicles not tested with pedestrian safety in mind seem to be the culprits in this rising tide of death.

Adulting is so hard.

First Daihatsu was investigated and found to be BS’ing safety stuff and halted production and now Toyota is admitting to some irregularities. I am convinced there is more to come from Toyota.
