That’s a good point. I wonder if the average user is also more likely to be cautious with the throttle on an ICE engine than an EV. The EV allows you to stab the throttle without drawing too much attention.

Hope this will load. Took this one from my truck out near Wilkesboro, NC. The aurora continued evolving over the next 20 minutes.

This is one of my favorite road trip games, identifying the original source of headlights and tail lights for medium and heavy duty chassis vehicles.

As much as I love bashing on the cybertruck, this isn’t that bad of a repair, and not nearly as bad as some of the other recalls from manufactures.

The issue falls more or less on the franchisee. McDonald’s is cool with this, but it’s the franchisee that foots the repair bills and still has to meet their targets.

Adaptive cruise. It’s not a need to have, but it’s very nice to have. It’s handy when towing in the mountains. Often times you’ll get caught behind a semi that drops to 20 mph and traffic is zipping around you. When you finally get a chance to pass, it’ll go hammer down back to your set speed.

Now that I’m thinking of it, how many other pickup trucks can you escape from with the tonneau cover closed?

They would have to learn a bit about the software and learn a bit about tuning the specific ECU and the ability to make that engine run. Just messing with the file will likely result in the tune failing to load.

Right, but in this case the Silverado is using a mud tire, not a well selected street tire like on the Tesla. In my experience(I’ve had several 2500s), stock sized highway terrains get a lot more traction than the large mud tires

The CyberTruck is not a 1/2 ton truck, it’s in the same class as a 3/4 ton. And the Hummer EV is in the same class as the 1 ton trucks.

Actually, they likely are. The 2500 Silverado is a class 2B truck, and most CyberTrucks are class 2B. The Hummer EV is actually class 3 truck, despite having a payload rating comparable to a Ford Ranger.

It all depends on the motor design. When not trying to reinvent the wheel or cutting costs, the electric motors consistently last more than 10k hours, with many going beyond 30k hours.

As far as the engine is concerned, the Silverado is stock or mostly stock, and the larger tires give it more of a disadvantage.

On the ground is cool, but it’s worth noting that there’s a significant chance it’ll be cloudy on the day of the eclipse. The best chance is Texas, but even Texas has a lot of clouds this time of year.

Another fun one was the Sunbeam Tiger. There was a time when Sunbeam was bought out by Chrysler, the Tiger received a Chrysler logo on the door, and had a small block Ford under the bonnet.

Nothing like the echos of cracking ice across the lake the first time you drive on it.

This. My parents chose a Dodge Hornet R/T PHEV over the Rav4 Prime due to the price over MSRP and wait time for the Rav4 Prime. Sure, the Toyota is likely to have lower repair costs long term, but the price over MSRP could wash that out.

They’ve stopped production before. The joke is that they did it because the Lions loss the NFC championship. None of us want a vehicle built in Detroit after that loss. The same goes for parts from suppliers in the area.

The production pause was a wise move. I wouldn’t want a truck built during that week in Detroit.

For those who can’t justify snow tire or storing them, chains are the way to go. When it comes to a slippery descent off a rural mountain road, you’ll be glad you have them.
