I just hope this right to repair doesn't apply to crane makers, like Manitowoc. Right to repair is cool for a tractor, even though the farmers will use it as a way to delete their emission equipment when it breaks instead of fixing it. But I really don't want to see these guys trying to fabricobble a crane back

The 2nd gen was a great truck. One of the best features was the center console, it could fit a 15" laptop with room to spare.

Now you’ve got to find charging elsewhere or run an extension cord using the standard 120V charger (is that even advisable?)

This. It’s why I like the DOE’s GREET model. It’s far from perfect, but it’s the most convinient set of data that tries to show full life cycle pollution for products.

Came here for the Mercury correction, wasn’t disappointed.

With just a tune, Livernois Motorsports claims they were able to get 428 horsepower and 469 lb-ft of torque from this engine on 93 octane fuel.

Correct that you never see an ad where a diesel truck isn’t pulling. However, consumer behavior doesn’t match what journalist recommendations.

All good points, but...

Was that on the lie-o-meter? FCA lie-o-meters typically aren’t the most accurate. My Ram 2500's confuser will show as high as 27 mpg.

The DOE’s GREET does the best it can to model all the above. It’s covered under well to pump emission for various sources.

The only thing I’ll pay for is the internet data needed to run a service I’d like. For example, I pay around 8 dollars a month for remote start(and other basic functions) that work with my phone and Alexa/Google.

I seriously fear them stealing from my stock DPF and SCR equipped Cummins. Not only is the emission system extremely expensive but most of the parts are on backorder for months. The truck won’t run without the parts. It’s one thing to rip someone off for a few hundred bucks or a grand, but it’s another to put their

Nuh uh, it’s a bridge. It goes around the corner.

Ditto. I’d consider as a replacement for my current daily, a TDI. While the fuel economy is less than the TDI on the freeway, it gets better city fuel economy.

The lie-o-meter is vehicle dependent, but those numbers are realistic for driving that slow. Aerodynamics play a huge roll.

It’s based on the Ford C2 platform, I’d expect it to have some similarities to the system in the Bronco Sport.

Definitely! Make sure to tag me in the Tiktoks when it goes down. Just the other day a Ford Escape was converted into a truck by attempting to pull a stump using the rear pillars. It looks like the 2005 version of the Maverick.

As cool as it’d be, there’s a bit of logistical issues for making the Maverick a regular cab with decent bed space. It’s a unibody C2 Platform(same as the Focus), it would be difficult(not impossible) to make it meet the safety standards with the removal of the C pillars. It’d take a lot to redesign it, then a lot of

Did you stop and get some Lawlers BBQ while you were out there?

There was the high pressure fuel pump issues on the 2009-2014 2.0 TDI, that rate was actually pretty low(NTSB performed an investigation). 2009 had the highest rate of around 1 percent or so. Improvements afterwards brought the failure rate down a lot lower than that.
