When it comes to that concern, check the certifications. The Amazon 5w40 oil does meet CK4 cetification, the newer version of CJ4. It does not carry the certification needed for VW engines, and it’s actually more expensive than Rotella T6.

I turn on the seat heater and leave the rest to thoughts and prayers. Both the truck and car are diesels, and any heat for me is heat taken away from the engine. Faster warmup for the engine means a longer engine life.
