I certainly get where you're coming from. It amazes me how quickly I've fell for the show. By the way, BCS has a few serious merits that I think are being overlooked:

-Googles- Holy fuck, you're actually NOT joking. Thank God for this show.
I hope the title of the film has a literal meaning, and with all of them in a guest role at least, much to the consternation of the film's producers and pretty much everyone.
I bailed out on Sons of Anarchy a long time ago, but I distinctly remember Clay accusing Jax of being manipulated by "doctor pussy"… referring both to Tara's profession and her genitals, as she had no pets if I recall correctly.
“I’ll be back… with cocoa.”
…I still don't get it (the joke, I mean, not the obvious literal meaning). :(
Not that I'm aware of, Battlecar.
I'm Spanish and I just want to say that Cloverfield here wasn't titled Monstruo (Monster), BUT Monstruoso (Monstruous). Say hello to my anal retentiveness (…ew).
On the other hand, that's extremely preferable to heavy-handed dialogue where people talk with perfect lucidity about their own feelings.
I would say the best canonical post-show stuff has come out of the ninth season (written mostly by Andrew Chambliss, Dollhouse guy if I remember correctly) and Angel and Faith (written by Christos Gage). Nicholas Brendon is co-writing some of the tenth season, so I should get around to read that, I'm curious about it.
…I'll be in my bunk.

Still better than the comics.
Meanwhile, in AMC…
Allow me to refine it:
All that being said, I would have *loved* it if Ennis had toned down just a liiiiittle bit the "shock" jokes and, especially, if he had been less indulgent regarding Jesse's assholish "I'll protect you" crap with Tulip, laughably redeemed with a few tears in the last issue.
I always felt that, actually, the most important thing in Preacher was the relationship between the two male leads (and I have a suspicion that Ennis felt that way as well, given that the climax is mainly -I mean, apart from all the other balls in the air- a confrontation, both thematic and physical, between Jesse and…
Look, you're all making interesting points, but neither you nor Parker/Stone adressed the *true* crux of the matter.
I love googling "Lone Winter Sun", quotes included. Some results:
Well, fair enough, but we're not talking about rapper T.I.'s looks right now.
