This is a tough one for me on the stick vs auto choice. I don't particularly care that the auto is .X faster in a straight line. For me it is between the kind of driving I would have to do in the car for it to be fun.

Motor Trend already put it up against the Camaro ZL1 and the Challenger was declared the winner. This car is flipping the bird to everyone screaming that it can't handle.
It's important to remember that the guys at SRT, SVT, GM Performance, AMG, M, etc, have to take an existing platform and work with it. They don't get to redesign the platform from the ground up. Given what was dropped on their plate and what they did with it, the car is incredible.
