Well, Deadheads have never really cared about the studio (or official live albums either) albums to be fair. It's been about tapes as long as I can remember (early 70's).

I like the Dead and the 90% of Deadheads who aren't itinerant carny dirtbags just fine.

When you match up a few hundred Dead shows on a playlist you quickly discover their set lists were not nearly as varied as legend would have it.

That "traveling town of hippies and societal drop-outs" is what made seeing a Dead show such a shitty experience (at least in the west coast states) past '80 or so, unless you avoided the lots completely. It was more tolerable in Europe by far.
