I think this is a very intriguing concept and I support what he is trying to do. It would seem to me that a similar project using water and dirt to form mud and then using a ceramics process to generate a 3d object might also be useful (perhaps more so since the strengths of ceramics can be far greater than sand and

It seems like this is perfect for teleradiology and not much else (at least at this price)

That's because nobody understands what it does (or at least nobody thinks they understand it enough to write it down).

I tried Tango the other day and it was pretty solid as well. It makes video calling simpler than skype, works on 3g or wifi, and it works well on a 3gs.

@skierpage: Ok.. but doesn't this sound like a ridiculous calculation when you think about why people look at the MPG rating. I think there are only a few things people look at:

How is this any different than things like the WD HD Live? It costs less than $100 now and gives you DLNA support, media browsing, etc.

Personally I think that the MPG rating is a bit ridiculous when it is applied to hybrids and all-electric cars. For electric cars (like the leaf)... it's just flat out dumb. They really need a new rating system for all-electric vehicles.

@Mr_Academic: I personally have loved the Thrawn trilogy and the "New Jedi Order" series. Not all of them are well written but the plot lines are great and they do a good job of keeping you guessing and being truly unpredictable.

Why would anyone use this over playon and any other dlna compliant streaming component? My WDHD live works great with Playon.

@Mr_Academic: I hear you and I understand your point but there are definite problems with letting just "anyone" work with it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you... This article is a well-written plea for a little understanding. I find it sad that we have (as a group) decided to lambaste George Lucas for his recent failures. The truth is that we all watched the original trilogy at a certain point in our lives and they struck a cord at that

@Arggh! there goes a...snake a snake!: I think that is a mis-statement... it does aggregate the online content but it's also is responsible for transcoding it so it is available on these devices. You wouldn't be able to watch Hulu on an iphone (or even on the TV) without this feature.

I don't know... we look at models all the time that are air-brushed and think "wow... she's hot" but the truth is that she doesn't look like that at all. I don't see any major difference between this type of modification and air brushing. Either way the reality is distorted and I doubt any of us would care while we

I think that reviewing the WD and the PS3 without mentioning the DLNA support that allows for it to hook up to a media server like Playon is sort of silly.

@RenRen: There is a huge difference between cross-breeding and recombining and/or modifying DNA... I do not think they can be put on the same playing field.

VOTE: None

@psychiccheese: Fine... so if you are an iphone4 user you have a choice... put a small piece of barely noticeable plastic over your phone (its transparent and almost unnoticeable) or continue to have lousy reception and bitch about the problem. Personally I think my time is more valuable....

Doesn't using a simple case or even those thin plastic wraps over the phone completely solve the problem? If so.. then the fix is simple... just go buy something to go over your phone. The plastic wraps (like invisible shield and the like) are almost completely unnoticeable.

@thinkthis: Doesn't comcast already own a piece of Hulu? I'm more worried they are going to try to sink the ship so it doesn't hurt them too much.
