The Swedes use rear-facing safety seats until age 4, and although they often drive Volvos, they really never drive big SUVs or gigantic schoolbus-sized minivans like in the US. Fact is, people bring too much shit they don't need and then whine about it constantly. When we had our daughter we bought an A3 sportback and

Since most of these will probably get used for burnouts at Cars and Coffee instead of track days, I think a better measure would be "time before tires hook up and throw you into a curb".

Can someone explain to me why the officers were walking through a neighborhood with flashlights looking for Officer Fox? I just expected that these days all police cruisers would have trackable GPS units with On-Star-like functionality, triggered by a chase (or something like that).

Actually, most premium cars (German primarily) are referred to by their internal code names rather than their model number for precisely this reason, and I expect that's what will happen with iPhones and iPads. Apple fans and tech-leaning people in general will learn the generation numbers or some other unofficial

I've actually worked in two major corporate offices (pharma companies) that had rooms dedicated to taking power naps. They called them "meditation suites" I think, but were clearly intended for quick naps during the workday (alarm clocks by a comfy recliner in a soundproofed dark room).

By most accounts, Leonardo Fioravanti was responsible for the design of the 246 Dino. Of course Sergio had a hand in most of the designs, but he was rarely (if ever) the man with pencil in hand after he took over as chairman from his father by all accounts that I've ever seen. He was a director—he gave guidance,

For Christ's sake people, how many times do we have to go over this? Sergio Pininfarina didn't design cars—he masterfully oversaw the design of cars.

NONE of these were designed by Sergio, because he wasn't a designer, simply the man in charge.

The answer is most definitely not Jason Castriota. While he may be the current leader in gratuitous self-promotion, he hasn't really done anything remarkable while he has done several questionable designs. The Saab PhoeniX was a mess of epic proportions and looked awful in the metal. His talk is his skill.

Probably because that's what she was driving. What a surprise!

It's because Americans have laughably low driver training levels and have been taught that anything over 55 mph is dangerous. I think 85 may just be higher than I feel comfortable seeing Americans drive, knowing how easy it is to get a license.

It was funny at the time, but I actually noticed at several times during the race (after Kimi's comment) that blue flags were being shown either well before a slow car arrived or long after it had already passed. Because of his low grid position, it wouldn't have been inconceivable that a faster car was coming up on

Bodum's Danish, I think. But, you know, all tall blonds look alike anyway...

Ok, he's a bit of dick for doing this, but to be fair he did try to explain it to her several times. Then again he did marry this remarkably "simple" girl, so joke's on him.

The new Euro Civic hatch is pretty dreadful, especially compared to the previous gen, so I'm honestly not surprised they've sunk to this level considering the stiff competition they face in the market.

Wow, the Peugeot 208XY Professional didn't make it? Shame. Outfit alone was worth a mention.

AutoCAD and Alias have been available on Macs for a few years now, but knowing Apple, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they used something non-industry standard before that, just to avoid PCs.

Ain't no body like a lifting body 'cause a lifting body don't stop...lifting.

I finally got one about 24 hours after I posted this, and close to 30 hours after they posted the "resolved" on the blog.

At least Zappos contacted me to let me know. Despite Dreamhost claiming on their support blog that this issue is "resolved" and that all customers have been emailed, this is most definitely not the case. I haven't received any notice, and judging from the comments on their site, neither have many other customers.
