What I will make of it is that VW is losing customers because the current Jetta looks like a Korean car but costs like a German car, so they decided to make it cost and look like a Corolla instead.

@jbh11126: It's because he's running closer to light speed, so it only appears to you that his time is sped up.

Call me old fashioned, or just plain silly, but I'd rather have a stripped-down, super-lightweight, perfectly-balanced Lotus with 204hp than this batmobile-bodykitted Exige with 700hp.

Leave it to New Jersey to fight against a chance to have a world-class event that reflects well on the state while simultaneously ignoring its infrastructure to the point of third-world status and allowing strip malls, big box stores, and chain restaurants to replace every inch of farmland and real downtown area left

@muhnkee_2 - Avantime Owner and 100% Jaloper: Spiritually, I agree, but the utter lack of elegance and subtlety in the Avantime is in diametric opposition to the stunning shape and details of the SM. Real lost opportunity.

I'm sorry, but the FJ Cruiser is so much closer to a MINI in style that it's a total natural.

If only you could drive it around with the lights down that low all the time.

I always did like the Calibra. I think it's a good starting point for the new GM...wait, that's a BMW??

@arozzi: I think you're giving him much too much credit. I don't disagree with what you're saying, but he is not saying that.

@wohho: Well congratulations for seeing the entire freaking world through the lens of a bitter American teenager. I hate to tell you, but most of the world's population lives in places overwhelmed with Buicks taking the place of tiny cars, bikes, and other "silly" little vehicles of all sorts.

I used to watch this all the time when I lived in Europe. We don't even get WRC in the US but they used to show this frequently on broadcast TV.

If only they had put a bit more of that stunning attention to detail into the exterior styling so it didn't look like a Farbio bearing down on you at 230mph on the Autobahn.

So am I right in understanding the word "perkele" roughly translates to "Finland, FUCK YEAH!!"?

@Peter S.: One of my scariest moments was in a Cooper S as well. I had a regular Cooper and was thinking of trading up, so I was test driving an S on an unfamiliar, but incredibly fun, twisty back road. It had rained the night before, but the road was dry, so I was hitting it pretty hard.

@Jstas has gas!: Uh, yeah, well, actually you didn't say that at all.

@Jstas has gas!: A Taurus? In Philly? I saw an SHO in the burbs about 6 months ago, that's been it.

Luckily, around these parts, the Chargers are pretty easy to spot. Most of the "consumer-owned" Chargers are metallic rust colored and run on chrome 22s with fake engine vents, while the police packages tend to be all white or all gray on 16 inch steelies with bull bars.
