@neverbeenback: I didn't say invent, start, or create video calling. The fact is it wasn't ever properly 'sold' to Americans. Regardless of when this was available or who did it first Apple has the opportunity to own that market. Very much the way they own potable media.

One way to step it up Apple would be with FaceTime. Make it over 3G, connect FaceTime across all Apple devices (use iChat on OS X). Make it accessible on non-Apple devices by logging into Mobile Me. Own video communications.

It's a package deal for guys that are into WoWing themselves.

@2 replies: I most certainly agree, remove the muddy plank from your ass. The Lincoln Assassination just recently became funny. I need to see this play like I need a hole in the head.

NASA is working hard before they all lose their jobs.

@jmaldonado15: It's begun. They want to keep the dollars separate between recall and warranty. Don't worry, you'll get a new phone after the press conference tomorrow.

@xaronax: The bars aren't the indicator its the transmission:

@wætherman: Good thought. I just checked mine (I'm the original 'tipper') and I show I am version 4.0 with Modem Firmware 01.59.00

@geekymitch: if you are looking at the screen, the spot is on the left side. It is on the steel band just up from the black separation in the steel band. Hold the phone in your left hand, thumb extended (covering the volume buttons) with your other fingers on the right side of the unit. The fleshy part of your palm

@qballdz: Amazing. This is exactly the comment I wanted to see.

@Arken: Best comment.

@Coreboy: That will be interesting, report back.

@A.Jaswal: I shot it against another iPhone, Giz didn't post it. I also calibrated my white balance before this shot. What I shot is as true to the color when the other phone was black. But only at that angle.

Campout!

@hawkeye18: From the turret on top of course.

Nobulge pocket design? TWSS.

People actually use those? I don't have one. But are these going to steal my data when I use them in the winter again? [www.coolest-gadgets.com]

@Piledriver: What does it say about me when 90% of the pictures on my iPhone are from me mocking strangers on the Subway.

This iPhone owner sure likes food.
