Just don’t get a Target card. Once you cross that line, it’s truly all over

When I try to explain to people why I hate The Catcher in the Rye so much, I am going to use this article to demonstrate that there are much better (and funnier) ways of writing the human condition.

As I was reading all of those highly irrelevant tangents I found myself thinking “how did we get here? The premise of this article is how this poor dude winds up inexplicably inside of a Target store and purchases things he hadn’t intended to...oh.” Well played.

Either way, I’d rather expect to (and be comfortable with) paying my own way and be pleasantly surprised if that’s not necessary. Instead of being the person who’s pissed off they aren’t entitled to a free meal/beer.

I’m sorry, but WHO shows up to a restaurant celebration not expecting to pay for your own meal, unless you’re the guest of honor? If someone offers to pick up the bill for the entire party, that’s incredibly generous but definitely not expected!

This is pure foolishness. I guess this is why I do house parties. I buy the food and a few bottles and everyone has a great time. But to think someone is supposed to pay for you because they invited you out? C’mon son. Fake news.
