But don't you think there's a bit of presentism going on with your argument? I mean, Kevin and Bean's show - which may not be as big now, I don't know - was huge in the '90s. And at the time, their massive audience thought that joke was funny, Taylor included.

Totally agree that was the most haunting death. Bravo to all the writers and actors for that one.

While I agree that Singer is innocent until proven guilty and all, let's wait a minute before we declare the plaintiff a vengeful huslter, can we?

I never said that Bill O'Reilly and NPR are on the same level. I said I can enjoy both of them even when I don't agree with everything they say.

I like Penn & Teller and enjoyed most of Bullshit! I didn't care for a few of the episodes that people have mentioned - second hand smoke, recycling - but that didn't stop me from continuing to watch. I just knew we disagreed on those points.

I believe forgiving the artist is its own issue entirely. We cannot tell you to not be bothered by Mel Gibson's anti-semitism, or Miles Davis' history of abuse, or Polanski's sexual assualt. We cannot command you to forgive them for the damage they have done in their personal lives.

Not trying to be argumentative, and I do see and respect your perspective. But - to your anything less is wankery point - I believe all methods and levels of appreciating art are created equal. That's what's so freeing and beautiful about it. There are no rules.

Well, can't deny the facts, disheartening though they may be. And I get that's what the article is about, the dual personas of Miles - master and monster.
