This is nothing new. Some bars and nightclubs roll video 24/7. We call it suggestive advertising.  Insecam is a compilation site that lists all public venue vids, from pool area at major resorts to coffee shops.  

It fits the Faux News/Right-wing disinformation narrative.

It says right there in the article he’s doing a stand-up special to explain the details.  Why would he give it all away for free?

Why would they stay around to do clean up when they know the villain that killed everyone was only going to be distracted by the bugs and was going to come back and most likely kill again. Surviving is the primary role for anyone with common sense before doing anything else. 

I don't think it's a stretch to assume that 1) Sol was totally overwhelmed and that there is some kind of jedi clean up crew that deals with this stuff, and 2) the dude was fucking TERRIFIED and wasn't just leaving the forest, but actually running from it

There was a really good profile of Mieville in WIRED last month. It sounds like he’s been through a lot recently, but I’m glad he’s doing better. And he has another, really big novel coming in the next couple of years.

My theory is all big brand frozen pizzas are made at the same factory…but damn it, Jack’s Thin Crust has me brainwashed. I know it’s all highly processed pseudo-food but some chemical agent in Jacks has me hooked. 

I’ll be honest, the pictures always annoyed me; between the poor load times causing the page to redraw a dozen times and the way the ads were spliced between the book and the review, they ended up being useless. Maybe smaller ones inset to the text.
