I think it is more to smooth out the demand curve.  More to encourage people to come in at off peak times than to discourage the peak traffic.

These days I use cast iron the most, but I also use enameled cast iron a lot. I have some nonstick that I use occasionally and some older calphalon (the original anodized, not any of the fancy newer ones), which is useful for big things like stock pots and chef’s pans. Those would be pretty heavy in cast iron.

This might be a self fixing problem.  If everybody who says “I will never eat there again if they do this” follows through, then there will never be a surge.

Just watching this movie now and I’m not saying you are wrong, but the idea that a guy could be a major league catcher for 15 years, then join the OSS as a spy in World War II and be a dull person is kind of mind blowing.

I think it will always have a niche, it’s just that it will be former meat eaters who are now vegetarian but pining for something they used to enjoy. That niche is never going to be very big. Otherwise people who eat meat will just eat meat unless it is identical in taste, texture, and price which is unlikely. If…

If it is gelato, it is stracciatella, which is the worst word in the food world. Are you getting chocolate chips? Soup with eggs? Cheese with a runny center?  There is big opportunity for miscommunication.

They used to give you a free donut just for walking in the door. On the weekend, I would get 2 dozen on the way to the first 2 hospitals, then 2 dozen more on the way to the last 2. They gave me a free one each time before I even ordered.

It’s not that hard to make at home.  That might be a good route for you to take.

No matter where you live, it shouldn’t be hard to find much better chicken parmesan at a reasonable price.

Also, while I realize that not everybody who saw it has read the book, it had been around for over 50 years, is one of the most read SF books of all time, and pretty much everybody who had read it guessed that was where they would break.
