Hey man, thanks for your comment. Those two points were mostly figurative. When he bought the car, it was second-hand, yes, but pretty much new. The previous owner had it for a short time, and put very little mileage on it. Maybe “almost new” would have been the better term here.

People talk about the 12-Valve Cummins engines because they’re the ones with mechanical fuel systems. When the engines switched to 24-valves, electronic fuel injection came with it.

Hence why you often hear people saying they prefer the “Cummins 12-Valves.”
