As a Tesla owner, regular road trip goer (in the tesla) and actual automotive aficionado, the level of ignorance about this brand never ceases to amaze me. If only all these auto “experts” would live with a tesla for even just one week and drive it every day, and at least once on a road trip, you would litterally

The people who want this car can’t afford it, and the people who can afford it want something more interesting. This car has received tremendous amounts of hype, but who exactly is that hype aimed at? Millenials with college debt and low wages, or retired boomers who are going to buy corvettes or luxury cars instead?

To answer the question in the headline, when ford can make it as an EV profitably. Right now I dont think Ford will survive the next 10 years. They have to pivot their entire buisness, and haven’t committed nearly enough to do it realistically in a time frame that will make them relevant. There is a reason Ford stock

Ferrari wants to go bankrupt it seems. There is zero reason to put any R&D energy into combustion engines. Battery powered cars will be better in literally every metric including weight by 2025, so anyone buying ICE has maybe 2 or 3 years tops before total obsolescence.

For car people you are oddly hypocritical. Its positive when the 1LE sets a track record unofficially at nurnbuerg, but hearsay when Tesla does something at a track that is technically accurate but doesnt meet your beurocratic standards. You are all a bunch of hypocrites lol. Just admit that Elon pisses you off

No, they have marketing. Was it high standards that caused dieselgate or bullshit and lies?

That isn’t true. I have a tesla too. If the app is down, you can still access the cars with either the Fob or the key card. In the model 3 the phone isnt the actual key, it’s like a shortcut on a computer. It’s a surrogate that let’s you drive the car and unlock it, but the physical key is still required to do a lot

Jalopnik sucks at covering Tesla, probably because they don’t understand the cars. A 2014 model S doesn’t have the same autopilot as 2017 and later models. It has autopilot 1.0, which is significantly less advanced, and it does not have the full autonomy suite that is equipped on later cars. Some people really like AP

Speed is relative. Formula E is not a slow series. The tracks are short because the cars are quick, but not as fast as other series, but a lot of the limitations of formula E make the racing and spectacle better than F1. It’s like go cart racing. Go karts aren’t that fast, but they are tiny and their relative speeds

Yes. Elon personally funds a small startup at unlimited risk to himself as a cash grab. Where does the internet find so many geniuses like yourself.

The only thing I question is the integrity of the journalist of this article. It is based on so much biased and logical fallacy as to be worse than a waste of time, but an exercise in promoting ivory tower haterism.

Truck people should be really excited about electric trucks then. My car has more power and more torque at 0 rpm. If any platform should favor an electric drivetrain, it is in the world of towing, and low end torque.

The picture is of the mission E concept. The taycan looks like a neutered panamera. Also porsche downgraded their claims about charging on their 350kw chargers to 250kw. Also relevant is what system they are claiming 300 miles of range on, because it probably isn’t EPA miles.

Yout fundamentally don’t understand the value of FSD.

What does elon musk have to do with GM cruise. He called them idiots for perusing LIDAR, a fools errand and said “mark my words they will all drop it eventually” referring to a fundamentally flawed logic behind their strategy. Gems failure was predicted by Musk, not reflected by.

The reason is because the front tires still have traction when the rear tires lose traction. Spinning the wheels causes the actual friction between the tires and road surface to be significantly reduced in efficiency as heat. If the tires aren’t slipping, more energy is maintained as kinetic, and less is lost as

I am sure its fast, but the speedtail is ugly, and McLaren has been hurting on both design and winning in any sort of motorsport recently. McLaren has gone downhill a lot, but at least it isn’t just every Tesla that has ever caught fire that makes news, its also hypercars, so there is at least a little bit of news

Yeah, the cars profits are greater than any other car. Tesla is investing billions in expansion, that is why they are negarive, not because their current models arent profitable.

Actually it sold more units than the camry.

Lol. You are a moron. Go drive litterally any EV and compare it to a Tesla. People actually do, and the results back it up.
