The season was absolutely all over the place! I chalk that up to the writers throwing out seeds that will come to fruition in a later season(s). One can only hope.

I 100% agree with you and tgr2k1. The problem is that it hasn’t worked yet. The possible exception being Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer which was a GREAT movie in my opinion. 

With so many fantastic properties, why do studios show so much love (i.e. give countless opportunities) to Fantastic Four?
