Can I be some kind of super wishful naive white person? I have always been fascinated by anyone. I wanted to constantly monitor my thoughts for assumptions based on appearances (any; not just skin color). I am assured I must be racist. I do not want to be.

I have wondered the same. I have always hated racism, and when implicit bias became a thing, I wasn’t sure what to examine in my own heart. I have friends of all kinds, but have been assured it is no matter.
