I mean, ideally, you wouldn’t want him to have to pull a gun at all. But this guy gave these two plenty of time to comply, and then they became belligerent and started behaving weirdly.

When they say “less than lethal” I’m guessing it might be a rifle configured for rubber bullets? Which still seems kind of unnecessary to me, but is a pretty different thing than pulling live ammunition on them.

If that’s the case, now they have hired someone who won’t shy away from calling them out on it publicly.

We have no idea if the stop was legit or not. There’s no evidence either way.

I’m the LAST guy to defend a cop but man, if you’re bored, spend some time watching compilation videos of so called “sovereign citizens” explaining to cops why they don’t have the right or jurisdiction. They’re fucking hilarious.

Not that I think the situation calls for an assault rifle, but it certainly seems to me that this officer was being about as patient as he could be with these two. And yeah, maybe the traffic stop was bullshit, but they probably could’ve been on their way if they had just, like...shown their license?

I don’t think even 17-year-olds should ever be tried as adults. Not that it isn’t a big fucking deal when they commit a crime like this. It’s just that so often that standard is used to treat 14, 15 year old kids like hardened criminals (especially if they’re black).

Had this been a little white child and Black teens, you’d see them tried as adults.  

The incident in which two black teenagers taunted and assaulted a disabled white teen was all over every national media outlet for several days — and rightly so. I’m fairly certain they were held criminally responsible too.
