I feel like I do this just about any time I'm around people. It works to an extent, but holy exhausting, eh?!

Sorry to do this separately. Seems my time-limit on editing my post is up. Here's the photo:
I dunno... she looks wonderfully feminine to me. There's plenty of women with more stereotypically 'masculine' features. This particular character's face looks a bit like Lake Bell's (Boston Legal), for instance:
Wow. So much victim-blaming going on in the comments it's honestly making me sad.
This is kind of the point, though. The fact that so few films pass despite the fact that the criteria are ridiculously easy to meet is telling. More than telling, it's precisely what's troubling.
I'm sorry, what is this ad even for? I take it it's the clothing, given the second sentence in the article; but I wouldn't have known that if I'd just seen the ad on its own. I love [read: hate] that brands are trying to sell things like 'freedom' and 'happiness' to us. But, if they're gonna do it, they should at…
Holy jeez!! WTF kinda dog is that?! It specifically set out to attack the kid.... horrendous!
I usually do it by copying the HTML over from youtube and pasting it here.
[...] thighs and arse with a side of boobs.
Lol, nice :P
Lol, I feel like an idiot now. My bad!! Definitely did not see that in the photo until right now.
I think that's from the abdominal muscles. How much this 'seam' shows depends on how much fat you have over the muscles up there. In my case, for instance, I carry my fat lower down on my stomach, so a (less pronounced) seam like this shows even though I'm not the same size as this mannequin.
[...] attacking the idea that any body is better than the other is better than attacking any body type.
Oh man... I can totally relate to the 'feeling like a failure' thing. It's why I hate (inter alia) getting dressed in the morning.
Fair point! I hadn't even thought of the effect the pose might have. (probably because mine doesn't do that, and that's really my only datum here... lol, so scientific)
(Totally OT: I saw your handle and thought to myself "hey, I used to take that stuff!" lol)
Yeah, it's so true; we really can't win. In my case, flash forward 11 years and I just hate my body no matter what anyone tells me. :/ Ugh... This body image stuff just hits too close to the bone for me. (Sorry—tired and feeling whiny.)
Wow, ouch! (<<re banging your hipbones into stuff. That sounds all kinds of painful)
It's the ribs combined with the jutting hip bone that got me. I get that a healthy person can have visible ribs, but this figure doesn't look healthy to me.... (I may be wrong, though)
Despicable Me! It's a terrific movie—so much fun.
