It’s absolutely exciting for me. Ever since the first gen iPhone, I’ve been on a 2-years upgrade cycle (1st, 3GS, 4S, 5S).

This is completely anecdotal and probably just a weird coincidence, but if I had to make a Top 5 Most Excruciatingly Annoying and Punchable People I’ve met during my years of backpacking around the world, all five were Young White Australian Males.

That’s probably there biggest challenge. The screen has a crazy wide aspect ratio, so to find something of exactly that size and of good enough resolution is not easy. I poked around some websites, but I haven’t seen anything. :(

Hence the replacing the guts with a Raspberry Pi, which should be powerful enough for on the go typing and productivity.

One of the hobby project I would love to take on one day would be to replace the gut of a Psion Series 5 with such a tiny Raspberry Pi, and swap the LCD for a modern color one.
