My apologies. I see the NYT article has posted now with actual allegations.

This is not apologist. Can you site one source that has publicly said that Loius CK did this to me? Until that happens, all of this is just rumor and speculation.
I agree. The efforts may be fruitless but at least you have tried to make the situation better.
I know (hope) you are joking but pretending this is an anomaly and resultant of only backwoods behavior can be dangerous. While it may sound ludicrous, we need to engage these people with education. Ask them hard questions, introduce them to people different from themselves, show them the other side, hopefully lead…
That is truly the question we should be asking as that is the only way to address the abuse. As it stands, we will demonize a few and pat ourselves on the back to let the horror recede and to manifest itself in a different and ignore-able way (for at least a while.)
Why oh why does it matter if the assaulter (or the victim) was appealing or not?
My point is that when you say things like, “everyone was making money, connections, getting their ambitions and ego fufilled” makes it seem like everyone was not only benefiting off the shoulders of Weinstein’s behavior but reveling in it. To me, that doesn’t speak to fear but to greed.
This screams of a marketing ploy.
Maybe once and for all we can stop equating the rich and famous as our heroes and our betters. Most likely not. But it is nice to imagine.
Making money. i.e. Putting food on tables and providing for families. Portraying this as everyone getting rich and living a high life is most likely not an accurate statement.
This is not just show business. This is people. When others feel like they are better than or have control over people, this is, sometimes, how they behave. And you will always find someone to take the abuse as people have to eat.
There are no allegations against him. Just rumors.
Movies: Deliverance, Pulp Fiction, American History X, Sleepers, The Kite Runner, Super, Midnight Cowboy, Salo, Disclosure, Thursday, 40 Days and 40 Nights, Wedding Crashers, The Shawshank Redemption, Hangover 2, Get Him to the Greek, Horrible Bosses, Mysterious Skin, American Me, The Basketball Diaries, Happiness,…
You do realize she is just an actress, just a human. Why does she have to speak on all social injustices? Why doesn’t she get to be selfish just like all the rest of us and pick and choose her battles?
This is a ridiculous slope we are on here...picking apart throwaway lines from a moviefone interview show to demonstrate how people are monsters. You want to dislike someone, fine. But at least be honest in your intentions. You are hunting for evidence that fits your narrative.
My apologies. Somehow my comment ended up on the wrong thread. I am not sure what happened.
To be fair, I don’t believe anyone morphed into a feminist in a race to be “woke.” The people you mentioned were all specifically asked to comment on a person that was involved in their profession and, in most cases, their lives professionally at some point. They said what they were expected to say. To bad mouth those…
Please keep in mind that no one has ever said, “Louis CK did X to me.” Asking him to respond to assumptions that were made is simply not fair.
Skinheads culture appropriated the number 88 as a veiled reference to Heil Hitler as H is the 8th letter in the alphabet.
Insert slow clap here.
