“wash away the bad taste of the last few years of terrible writing out before RTD fully takes back over afresh.”
“wash away the bad taste of the last few years of terrible writing out before RTD fully takes back over afresh.”
the cynic in me says this sort of stuff happening in a very short space of time, in public, on monetised streams, just reads like invented drama.
And on top of that long list of atrocities Dany commits, there’s the fact that throughout the series, she nearly always favors conquest through indiscriminate bloodshed, which her advisors are always trying to talk her out of. She views ruling as her birthright and when anyone refuses to immediately bend the knee on…
This is a woman who, multiple times, suggested burning King’s Landing to the ground with everyone in it only for Varys to make an appeal to logic to get her not to. Everything leading up to her “heel turn” was a concession.
That’s always the reaction you get from someone who thought for 8 seasons that Dany was the hero of the story.
“Dany goes bad because she hears some bells ringing.”
Of all the bad faith arguments, the idea that she went bad because she heard bells ringing is the worst faith of them all. Do you even hear yourself? Did we watch the same show?
Wanda has always been a character who goes between a villain and hero. WandaVision ends with her running away with a thing called the Darkhold that the villain of her own show warns her against. If she does return I’m interested in how they’ll play her redemption arc
It’s not really the same situation. Wanda goes bad in the movie because she has been corrupted by the Darkhold. The movie shows that an alternate version of Dr. Strange had the same thing happen to him as well.
Zzzzzzzz
My initial reaction isn’t a nice one. This basic bitch should have known all this before it happened to her. It shouldn’t be necessary for it to happen to her. On the other hand, maybe this basic bitch going on TV is exactly what’s needed to change the minds of people like her?
Summer by the Bay starts in August and runs through to October; this was a PSA for those of you who pack your lightest summer clothing for a trip to San Francisco in July. 😐
Well, at least New AV Club is continuing the Old AV Club tradition of hyping some random movie to the hilt only to ultimately give it a C-.
lol.
You say “that’s stupid,” but you’re the person here who is clearly experiencing an inability to understand what is clearly an issue for many other people.
Yep. Alicent has not slept with Viserys. That was something entirely dreamed up by the reviewer in this article, who apparently wasn’t really paying attention to those scenes. There is zero indication or hinting that they’ve done anything other than be friendly; the king even directly says they’ve just had “talks”…
The reviewer already has their required script in place, even down to the casual ridicule., and the pattern of when it doesn’t fit the pattern, it’s part of the pattern.
“I’m pretty sure a male heir to the Iron Throne wouldn’t be forced to serve as a glorified waiter, but, again, Westeros gonna Westeros.” So, the show…
Honestly I don’t think Viserys and Alicent have been sleeping together yet. I even find it hard to call their interactions ‘flirting’. If anything I suspect if Alicent had been actively flirting, let alone trying to bed him, he never would have chosen her. Her reticence in the face of her father’s orders is what, in…
You are correct, they are still used.
