LOL.

You know, I really am in support of reparations. Show me a reparations bill and I’ll support it.

But it’s still funny to see social justice turning into just another grift. Oh tell me father, how can I be good and not a sinner? Well you can start by giving me all your money my son.

heh.

I’ll remind every poor white person and every white person who isn’t wealthy that they beneficiaries of a power structure that they are not even in.

Yes because calling every white person, including those who are poor and those who are hard working people that are very decent people racist is so brave and powerful and FYI, black people to my knowledge are not denied any rights that whites have so the word oppression is a bit too far.

Love how the author doesn’t even print what she said so that she can conveniently side step it. Quality reporting.

This annoys the shit out of me....that all white people benefit from racism.

I was happy saying that comment was dumb and moving on. That a bunch of hyenas started howling at me was not my fault.

Blatantly stating: “All white people are racist”, which she did, and stood behind, is in itself inherently racist.

A lot of the rhetoric people are employing as they twist themselves into pretzels trying to defend this dipshit sounds eerily similar to how actual white supremacists/white nationalists would defend some of their dipshit positions. Just gotta sub one identity group for another here and there and voila. What a world.

Fighting racism, using racism, and hiding behind double-minority status to excuse your own racism. #Winning

Her face book rant was racist. Rather then posting about her disbelief in the social construct of whiteness or blackness, she wrote in away that assumes that these constructs are real. Up above she says they don’t exist, then justifies the existence of one with the other, then says whiteness was created for this

Bergdorf wasn’t caught doing anything harmful, salacious, or remotely criminal. She had simply written a Facebook post calling out the violence of white supremacy and the realities of white privilege in light of the events in Charlottesville, VA.

She went too far and now, has Isha Aran and others caping for her, saying her words were taken out of context or their meaning “stripped” by The Daily Mail.

To everyone who’s commented:

aha, freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences of that speech, as it is so often pointed out around here

I get this interview from a PR perspective, but does anyone not actually see the difference between what she wrote and what Lorde wrote? You have a million ways to paraphrase her statement in order to obscure the fact that her actual words were awful. You pretend in a dozen ways that context will transform stupidity

they don’t understand that when I say ‘white people’ I don’t mean them as a person.

Her job is to sell makeup and shit to the public - the whole public. Being controversial in any way is a bad business decision. In what world would anyone feel sorry for her?

Sorry, but you can’t say ‘white people’ and then backpedal and say you didn’t mean *all* white people. You don’t get to engage in the same behavior you find offensive and not get called out on it.

Her points are well-taken. Her mode of expression is not. This from her original post: “Honestly I don’t have energy to talk about the racial violence of white people any more. Yes ALL white people.”

I don’t give a shit. She went too far in the statement that got her ass fired and I’m glad it happened.
