Yeah, Crowe belongs right down there with Stellan Skarsgård as a singer - not as bad as Brosnan, but like Skarsgård his singing’s closer to Croaking Lyrics in Time to the Music. (I doesn’t surprise me he’s got his own Rock band, Thirty-Odd Foot of Grunts - the one place his singing fits is in growly, snarly Hard Rock.)

Makes you yearn for the musical talents of Lee Marvin, Jean Seberg and Clint Eastwood, doesn’t it? Or Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep...?

Cabaret - the movie improves on the musical, for a wonder.

And here’s the proof, right here!

Brando wasn’t in the Original Broadway Production - Sky was played by Robert Alda, Star of Stage & Screen and Father of Alan Alda.

Wow, Zack Snyder is a Five-Star Asshole, isn’t he? He and Michael Bay should collaborate on a movie, the horribleness of which will suck them both into The Void forever...

Chocolate Chip Charlie didn’t die until the climax, so The Brother Did NOT Get It First in this case.

Oh, no! I didn’t hear about this! Cohen was a legend in Drive-In/Grindhouse circles, with two No. 1 hit movies to his name - Black Caesar starring Fred Williamson as Gangster of Color rising in the rackets before falling, but not before he got back at some Racist White “Pigs” who’d hurt him and his; and the original It

Carter at least was in the Navy (full Lieutenant in the Submarine Force) and George HW Bush was a Naval Aviator during WWII - like most recent Presidents who either aren’t former servicemen, or were Stateside in the National Guard during wartime (Hello, Ronnie! Hello, Shrub!).

I think it’s more relief that ZackSnyder! isn’t finally either personally crapping all over 81 years of DC legacy, or pissing in somebody else’s attempts to respect it.

aka, ZackSnyder! Didn’t Get The Memo.

I never really read the original (Fawcett Comics) Captain Marvel (amazingly, before my time!), but I did see the Republic Pictures serial when it was reissued(?) in the Sixties. Being from Republic rather than Columbia Pictures (who did the Superman Serials in the late Forties/early Fifties), the effects and stunt

Uhhh - yeah....

He’s still hoping for that Sex Pistols reunion tour....

In fact, soon as I read Hughes’s snark about “Sweet Caroline”, I knew I had to listen to it, stat!

In the early-mid 1980s, Generic-Branded products were a big deal in the culture - largely negative (who wants to have a pantry full of products that screams “We’re POOR!”?), though younger shoppers gravitated towards them as a way of “Sticking it to The Man” by buying the products without advertising or fancy labels.

Honestly, I almost never drink any kind of soda pop - not for health reasons, but because I never really liked the taste or how it sat in my stomach afterwords. I tried a regular (non-diet, no extra flavors) Coke from McDonald’s a month or so back, and I thew it out after drinking about a third of it.

I was going to say, Dave_I! After watching his own father turn cruel for the sake of cruelty, I’d think Tyrion would be smart enough to know the difference between a ruler making hard decisions, and a petty tyrant sadist who treats all his subjects like he does his children - like shit.
