The old pre 72-Cj’s and willys trucks could be fitted with an auxiliary overdrive and/or optional 4-speed transmission, giving 12 speeds forward and 3 in reverse.

Toyota: We build awesome cars.

But we don’t sell any.

Crate motor monday could also include articles which give thanks that some motors are not, and will never be, offered as a crate motor. Case in point: I think we are all thankful that the 2.4 from the jeep compass will never be swapped into anything.

Do not buy a merkur. Source: merkur owner/racer.

Hold on, Imma asp you a question...

I’m sure they are just buying time while they revive this for the real STI version

Its more about the vehicle dynamics. Putting a significant weight on the roof rack and trying to execute an emergency maneuver is different than sleeping on top of a parked car. I’m sure the rack can support much more than 150lbs, but the dynamics of the car are altered too much by driving with more than that up there.

Let me just change that clutch, and while I’m at it, lets drop that chevy 4-speed in here too...

Signal when changing lanes.
FFS, its not that hard. I might even make extra room and let you in.

If you look like you’re going to move over in front of me without signaling, be prepared to have that gap shrink rapidly.

give me moar intake runners!!!

“Wider width” just didn’t sound as snappy.

Just a guess here, but I’ll say the motor swap probably followed an IMS failure.

How could you write this without using the term “Trar”? Its the only abomination of the english language that can adequatly describe this abomination of a vehicle.

Pretty sure you have that backwards. Add the 718 engine to the 914. More turbos and water cooling. It would be hilarious fun, and a great story for people to tell at your impending funeral.

Thanks, Cj5 Year: Which part? 70 body, 72 chassis, assorted other bits of various years and manufacturers.

Can I get in on this?

Probably. But that doesn’t make it right.

If I were rich, I would totally buy and drive cars like this. And its that approach to finances that might indicate why I’m not rich.

Never have I seen a car that was so thoroughly wasted. This is keeping the Mona Lisa in a dark closet where no one can view it. This is making a perfect filet and lobster tail, just to look at. This is reading Mozart’s music without ever playing it.
I will never understand the value of a thing when that thing has

I can definitely agree on the t-top nostalgia factor, but if I’m looking for a structurally compromised muscle car, it would still be a convertible, but pace car edition.
90's all the cars.
