I feel like Lilli at that point just wanted to believe the fantasy of a mom and dad that loved her and wanted her, but the sequel would have been just as bonkers when Lilli gets back to Simon and he’s like, “That.... does not check out, Lilli girl.”

Re: the plot twist. I was like “the mother is white english, the father is middle eastern” and what .. Lili looks like her dad could be blonde and blue eyed? Even though she has black hair and brown eyes? And only one of them picked up on that? I need an epilogue.

1. I hate to be complainy about something y’all can’t control, but in mobile the ads make this practically unreadable. I get it, you want me to buy crackers, this makes me never want to touch a box of Good Thins.

I’ve thrown a book in the trash over the ending, but never out of a moving car. Your mother sounds amazing!

My mother is an avid reader. She’s probably forgotten more books than I’ve ever read, even though she passed her love of reading on to me.

I feel like the only way to properly read this book is by reading a worn paperback.
