movies in the divergent and maze runner series along with the books they were based on really pander to the idea that tweens/teens are inherently dumb and do not grasp simple storylines as well as the world around them…compare the giver's author's use of language to that in the before mentioned novels it's like…

he's a sophomore in a science major it's just not done…the sexual relationship with the professor is more believable than this storyline
