Same! Was looking into attending in NY but now that’s its practically in my backyard.. even better!

When you arrive at the venue don’t forget to sign up for “Woodstock Wi-Fi”! ($2500.00 per minute adjusted to $57,0000 per second during peak usage times)
Traffic sucks leaving there for normal concerts, can’t imagine what crowds like this will do.
Move it to The Mall!
I still surprised Woodstock 99 didn’t kill the brand for good.
All of this gossip news is meaningless! Lupita Nyong’o and Janelle Monae are dating! Did you hear me? I said, LUPITA AND JANELLE ARE A COUPLE! ALL HAIL JAPITA!
There’s now literally no reason for Bernie supporters to not jump ship to Warren, an actual, viable candidate for the DNC.
Unless, of course, they were sexist dipshits all along.
I love these posts and I look forward to them so much! I wish that the order of the pictures would match the order of the descriptions in the paragraphs because I am Out Of Touch and I don't always know who everyone is.
I also saw her in a small local club around that time (she was touring to support “Wild Hope”) and went with someone who was just there to see Rachael Yamagata and was skeptical of staying for Mandy Moore. But Mandy made a believer out of my friend with that show - she sang wonderfully, her band during that era was…
Ugh I knew something was bound to come out about him (not a good reputation at all). Side note: I saw an all ages show (started at 5:30 pm!!) with Mandy Moore 10+ years ago...she was so charming, beautiful and had an amazing voice! Met her in person and was so damn sweet. I do hope she makes music again! I still love…
I have not seen this yet, but I will bet my life that no matter how bad this performance was it dose not make the movie look better.
I thought the huge theater in the round set was fantastic! The fact that you never saw a cameraman with all the sweeping and spinning shots is also really impressive! I loved how into it the crowd was; I’m assuming that if this had been the live performance they would have kept the crowd quieter.
The best part of RENT as a kid was the love stories and aspiring to that boho life. The best part as an adult is the empathy and care given to those living through the AIDS crisis (not the leads who are mostly vapid narcissists but the support group folks)
Out of breath most of the time, sadly, especially during Today 4 U. She fit the part perfectly and matched WJH's voice really well, but she was either tired, conserving her voice, or both. I strongly wish they'd gone for an understudy for Roger cause his acting was not good even if his voice wasn't bad.
I think in some ways, I have a chip on my shoulder when it comes to Rent, because my high school friends (the movie came out when I was a sophomore, I think?) clung on hard to the whole “being a starving artist is so cool, if you do anything else, you’re a sell out” aspect of it, which I guess I should have expected…
It’s funny, I haven’t thought about RENT in many years. But after I heard that it was live on Fox, I streamed the Broadway score, and yep, I remember it enough to put on a live one woman show. Which I may have done and forced my son and partner to listen along to. I was interested in it enough to look into signing up…
A lot of people’s critiques about how unrealistic it is don’t remember or don’t know NYC in the 90s. It was a rough place. AIDS was a major issue in the city. Alphabet City was completely different than it is now. And yeah, there were squatters in shitty buildings. NYC had an edge back then, even Manhattan. It wasn’t…
Psst. Hey, everyone. It’s okay to like Rent. I know, I know, a lot of folks crap on nowadays. But, maybe like me, you grew up in the 90's and lived in the margins with the wierdos and outcasts. Or, maybe you were LGBTQ than and having something so mainstream celebrating your identity back than was thrilling. Maybe you…
Same. I like ‘em tall and weird-lookin’.
My only dream in life is to play with Adam Driver’s hair, and then curl up and nap like a cat on one of his massive pecs.
