Could be. It would also feel like a total copout, and I really hope that they don’t follow that boring path

I’m afraid that the internet has thoughts on this, and I have no idea who is right. There are a good number of articles encouraging NG+ and others encouraging doing side missions before NG+

Same.

Found Shadowheart

Yup, absolutely. DLSS3 is really incredible, but my 3080 can’t use it. They are doing great work to keep the tech advancing, but they are less interest in that tech helping everyone and more interested in raising prices on new cards and requiring them.

It’s really a stark difference much of the time. If you can’t tell the difference: fucking great. Some people claim not to see the difference between a UHD disc and a 4k stream. Awesome for them! FSR has such prevalent flickering issues that it is a constant distraction. This is true on 4k Quality, and only gets worse

I mean, that’s fair, but anyone at the sub $300 range is stuck at the best you can get for what you have. At 300, it’s which game is 60fps on medium vs which game is 50fps, and at 600-whatever, it’s what looks the best at 100+fps. Both are absolutely reasonable gauges, but also a different scale.

Yup, that’s an important clarification. The great things about FSR is that it’s card agnostic.

Seems about right. Mostly it seems to be: a Bethesda RPG. I like that, though I have found them less and less wonderful with each iteration (well, FO4 was better than 3). I’m mostly bummed how much the exploration has been nerfed. Guys...that’s your key thing!

I can’t say enough how friggin’ STUPID the conversation between Hera and the council was. Hera is a general, and can’t manage to make a rational argument for tracking the giant hyperspace engines that were being smuggled by Imperial loyalists? She can’t make a rational argument without resorting to childish emotional

Bias lighting is great for people who don’t have OLED TVs, but all the “interactive” ones all kind of suck. The idea seems great, but it lags in action, and it doesn’t really ADD to the experience. I’m glad that this is cheaper than the Philips version, but some 6500k constant leds will be cheaper, less distracting,

So I agree that Gale gets a dumb, bent over backwards happy ending, I guess I don’t understand what you’re trying to say about Karlach. Care to expand on that

Well put!

But the player DOES work towards an ending—and then the game just goes: naw, magic wand bullshit. Gale literally has a shard of the unmaking of magic stuck in him and nothing can free him from that...but, nah, it’s okay, he’s fine. Karlach would rather die than go to the hells and you give her the best life she could

Yeah. They’re trying to have it both ways, which is that it isn’t overly sweet, but it also just...ignores a lot of the stuff? It wasn’t a terrible ending by any means, but I’m worries they’ll just try to make it even sweeter.

Fair points!

I’m sure this is going to be unpopular, but the endings are honestly WAY too kind. I killed the absolute without Gale, and he’ll just...be fine, I guess? Karlach is going to go to Avernus and Wyll is going with her to fight demons. Laezel is gonna go overthrow her god (oops, I turned Orpheus into a mind flayer and

There are definitely plenty of moments where you define how Geralt works, but you’re correct. I think it can work just fine though. V in Cyberpunk is a player defined creation, and voiced lines work well in that, and honestly, that’s how FO4 SHOULD have worked, it’s just, again, Bethesda sucks at that. You’re right

I absolutely prefer voiced protagonists, but Bethesda generally has bad dialog writing, and it feels even more pronounced when it’s voiced. I think the negative reaction to FO4 was partly the generic gamergate misogyny, but mostly people who had skimmed over the mediocre dialog in previous Bethesda games sitting and

Yeah, if you’re gonna cheese any boss fight, it’s the one where you don’t lose your loot from push exploits. That way, you don’t have to miss out on the finale of the actual mission
