While that certainly happens, it’s much rarer in my experience. Most of the people like this are working these insane hours because 1) they literally find more meaning in their lives by working long hours, and so it is “enjoyable” for them to work that hard, and 2) they have specific financial success tied to the

Honestly, I think it’s because of how impressively GOOD looking the new Demon’s Souls is. They’ve kept all the systems on the same code, but have completely redone the assets--which is a significantly difficult thing to do.

I’m sorry, but your argument is that they have essentially failed to support it and/or have arbitrarily kept it from running, and you’ve decided that is a point AGAINST TLOU? As in, they are perfectly happy to let you play it however you want, spend more money or don’t (vs DS, where it is: haha, fuck you, pay us)?

It’s actually the opposite. They explicitly said they used the old code as much as possible, so that all the pathing/ai/combat/etc. is exactly the same (you can find this in the Digital Foundry video about the remake). TLOU part 1 actually has revamped AI, so it is LESS of a remaster, and MORE of a remake than Demon’s

Yup, exactly this. I don’t know why they included Demon’s Souls as an example of a remake, when it is very clearly the EXACT same game, with the exact same walkthroughs, the exact same stats, etc.

You seem to have a VERY difficult time differentiating the idea of “legal” and “ethical.” It is LEGAL for people to resell keys that they get, but it is UNETHICAL for people to sell the codes that were generated for the purpose of promotion/reviews/etc. This is what makes them shady. A developer is trying to

Honestly, I’m completely on board. While the show didn’t get to cover the last few books (a shame), it absolutely managed to be better than the books by very smartly building off the hard work of the original writing team, streamlining things, making things make more sense, building important characters more early on,

Exact same.

lul, what? The girl being carried is his daughter, NOT Ellie. In the first game, Joel teaches Ellie how to shoot a gun (a rifle), and here he seems to be showing her how to better shoot a pistol. She also is shown running while shooting with a look of determination on her face.

Most recently, The Cycle: Frontier. Maybe I’ll go back to it, but the wave of cheaters absolutely killed that game for me, and I really enjoyed it.

I don’t know if you’ve ever played games by pretty small teams that had popular multiplayer explode, but a LOT of them are almost immediately overwhelmed by cheaters, and die pretty quickly. This is because the teams simply don’t have the resources to effectively respond. Companies like Bungie spend literal millions

For that instance, yes, absolutely. Any of the back catalog, if it is new, is going to be amazing. I mean, hell, if you didn’t have a ps3 or ps4 and you now have a ps5, all of Uncharted is now free for you, God of War is amazing, Ghost of Tsushima is marvelous, Demon’s Souls is a delight, and a ton of other games.

I don’t really know how to address that. So, the point is that there are tons of games, but you haven’t played them? This isn’t so much a criticism of the library, but the choices that you make. Quantum Break? Really? Of all the games, that’s the one?

So, uh, did you not read my list? Citizen Sleeper, Tunic, Weird West are all brand new. Hardspace: Shipbreaker is “new” out of early access, and the new A Plague Tale is coming out shortly. This also misses Warhammer III (which is amazing), Spelunky 2, Solasta, etc. that I have already played, and games like

I guess I’m kind of blown away by people seeing almost entirely a collection of last-gen games as a win. I currently have both Gamepass and PS+ (the middle one), and while PS+ has been “worth it” for Stray and Demon’s Souls Remastered, I don’t really know what I’ll play after that. That’s not entirely true, I would

Gosh, that trailer looks HORRIBLE. It’s like they unironically hired the latest animated Harley Quinn’s version of Clayface.

Was this a conversation you had with your six year old, or the literal actual conversation that the developers had?

It’s gambling. I understand probability, and I occassionally buy lottery tickets. Will I win? No, of course not. Do I get some moments of stupid thrill when I trick myself into wondering what I would do if I won? Yup. That’s $2 worth of entertainment, to be sure.

It is genuinely amazing to me how Square continues to just make themselves worse and worse.

What are you doing, Sim-Bro?
