This is completely missing the point. Every single game engine has major problems for development. And on top of that, when you make a game, you end up writing a lot of specific code on top of that engine, adapting it to your needs. This is a time consuming process, but adapts it to your needs. Using the same engine,

Literally nothing you have linked to in any way, shape, or form, lays the fault on Valve. The Valve leak article doesn’t say anything about this, and the wiki for the game says:

It was literally the same engine HL2 was using, and the games came out the same day.

I’m legit doubtful that the source leak made them cancel the multiplayer. I feel like, it gave them an excuse to kill a feature in an already buggy, overloaded game they were over their heads with. Thanks for the info though. I do remember them cutting multi, if only vaguely.

I lost a great deal of time the the first, and it was janky as hell. God, I hope they nail the social aspect of this (and by that I mean single player social aspect, not multiplayer).

Um, what? That makes no sense. And also, the game was overscoped from the get-go. The gameplay was clumsy, because they were trying to do too many things in too little time. I would love to read about this source leak meaning they had to pull features thing (partly because I don’t believe you, and partly because if

Eh, it’s already the number one fix for the next patch, which is coming next week.

Honestly, you’re good to go right now. The endgame isn’t there yet, but playing to lvl 30 should be smooth sailing, and most of the big problems are either fixed, or should be with the next patch.

Oh, I absolutely agree. Of all those listed, it’s easily the best. The first game was middling garbage, but the second one really stepped up the game. It’s still not particularly good, though, and doesn’t hold a candle to thoughtful singleplayer games.

Blast. I pulled the McConaughey but out of my ass, as I just had to listen to one of the annoying commercials. Kudos. Still, they aren’t required to discuss the terms of the deal publicly.

Let me rephrase: Actors and Athletes generally do not say how much they are paid for various sponsorship deals. More importantly, they are not required to. For instance, how much is Matthew Mcconaughey getting for his wild turkey schill?

What are you talking about? Actors and athletes don’t say how much they are paid for their sponsorships.

I mean. I’m sure that they’re trying to tell a good story. It’s just. Not. There are some nice moments and characters, but for all of the setting up the next villain that happens...well...it’s just a lizard person. Maybe it’ll get better, but as of now, it isn’t very good.

I mean, let’s be honest: Neither Destiny, nor Anthem (or The Division, or Diablo 3, or Warframe, etc., etc.) are telling great stories. Not even one. The best they can do is pretty-okay.

I honestly feels unfair to keep picking on Anthem, but the fact that Bungie is the one doing interactive, real choices in a game, while Bioware, KNOWN for their branching storylines (not always in the best way, admittedly), isn’t. Well. It’s striking.

Ugh. Free play. wander around forever in an empty void. Maybe things will spawn, maybe not. If they do, carry these floaty things to a point. Or carry some fragment things to a point. Or stay in a single point. Or slowly wander about “scanning” runes/garbage. The fights are easier, and unless you have an entire squad

So I was very excited about this game. I played the demo, and was psyched. It looks great, it handles well, and combat is fun as heck. I enjoy the juggling of combos and the pretty solid vertical space they’ve created. The mech suits are mostly unique and quite fun to play.

Not really comparable. First, D3 fixed the loot system to be an annoying, miserly experience, to raining loot on you, which still didn’t just give you the best stuff, but was a hell of a lot more fun. Secondly, each piece of loot was unique. New boots, helms, gloves, etc. looked different, and you were upgrading for

There is a load screen that is very annoying to deal with. This just makes things feel smoother, and less janky.

Meh. Not only is anthem a week out from “official” launch, it’s two weeks out from the real launch, and there are still only 3 strike equivalents (one of which is literally just the last mission of the game, and is such an uninteresting slog that basically no one plays it), and there isn’t a Raid coming for MONTHS.
