I think they're a bit too small and (relatively) lightly armored to be Dreadnoughts; I think they might be Terminator squads, but I'm honestly not sure. They do look awesome, though!

I also love Dawn of War, but I wouldn't really call it an RPG/RTS mix, since the only ways to improve your commander unit (hero, for the unfamiliar) in Dark Crusade, come in terms of spending upgrade points earned by accomplishing various objectives, such as conquering a number of regions. Dawn of War II does have

Those miniatures are all excellent, as is Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. (I haven't actually started the other Dawn of War I or II games, except for playing Last Stand mode in Retribution and for playing the demos of the first game and Winter Assault). Goodness, I've put so much play time into Dark Crusade alone. So

Agreed. I'm thinking about getting some of those Lord of the Rings sets. I didn't realize those were already available until I saw them at Barnes & Noble today! I really haven't kept up with Legos in quite a while.

I agree. This is creepy but awesome, but the Lord of the Rings Legos look great.

I'm really starting to miss this place. I haven't been here in a while.

Your idea would be a very good one.

Look out! There goes the Battle Bus!

I agree. There's no reason first-person shooters can't be just as wonderful as games from other genres. If you don't want to play them, you don't have to. We'll probably always have plenty of options for playing games that aren't first-person or third-person shooters.

Now playing

It had better have Battlebus. (Thanks to a friend for showing me this!)

"Commercially, they're spot on. If the next Call of Duty was announced as a game exploring the loneliness and grief of the family of one of the faceless soldiers you gunned down in an earlier game, it wouldn't sell very many copies."

What's your scouter say about the Wii U's power level?

Yeah, the comment system's changed.

Duly noted. Wasn't sure if the first book was like the movie, thanks.

I think there's an unspoken element of emotional bonds between Trainers and Pokémon that transform the dynamic of "master and slave" to something closer to "trusted friends." This seems to be what the anime was getting at, but even beyond the "happiness" mechanics that were introduced as early as Gold and Silver, as

Tried to watch The Golden Compass on DVR. Got bored out of my mind. Personally I did love the first Narnia movie (second was decent, though both felt like they were trying to ape Lord of the Rings' atmosphere), even as I thought it was way too intense for children, both in terms of the central 'sacrifice' scene

The complaints I remember seeing had nothing to do with criticizing the rape story because it was a rape story, but with criticizing the rape story because 1) it was an uncreative backstory and 2) various people who worked on the game were going back and forth over whether Lara was actually being sexually assaulted.

So basically Red Dead Redemption's story-based approach to improving the player character's abilities. Works for me.
