Well, "free to play up until level 15" has already been confirmed. (Joystiq, and this was also mentioned at E3.) That comes next month. It basically sounds similar enough to World of Warcraft's own free-until-level-20 trial, which has been going on for nearly a year.

You might want to try The Lord of the Rings Online, which contains a lot of free content and looks quite good on maximum settings with the hi-resolution textures installed.

Well, actually, stealing is an evil thing to do, but I agree that New Vegas' Karma system can be odd (good Karma for killing Fiends, for example).
