I don't mind some good symbolism, but how are the story and characters?
Just because a work isn't aimed at children, doesn't mean that the characters don't need to be likeable. Why should I care about any of these people? The closest thing the story had to a devoted and uncompromising "hero" was a rather violent sociopath.
I think some people speculated that the "real world" was really another matrix, which would easily answer how Neo still had supernatural abilities.

I just use my watch alarm. One thing I loved about the old Grand Theft Auto 2 demo I used to play in middle school (I don't think Dad knew), was that it had a strict six-minute time limit. How is that a good thing? It meant I never missed the school bus.
