Im only talking about the 4cyl turbo car. They put the good suspension pack on it to make it track day ready... It would have been great if they went the extra mile to make it lighter.

Whats wrong with unrealistic goals? All engineers should have unrealistic goals to shoot for. I’d be “happy” at 2900-3000. 2600 however would be perfect.

It means I’m sensitive to weight, and FFS the ND is a full 1/3rd lighter than this Camaro.

Doing what they are doing is “fine” if the scrutineers are ok with it. I’m just saying it’s not something to be proud of (existing solely by technicalities and gaming the rule book), and as an American that’s sad; because I can’t root for a them.

Wow, thanks for letting me know about Penske. Hilariously there is an R&T about the “forgotten team” I just read. He seems to have done quite well from what was a half hearted effort. Makes me even more disappointed Haas doesn’t do more. FFS red bull is a soda maker and thier car is much more thier own creation.
