George Taliaferro opted to play in the AAFC but was drafted a couple years before Tripplett, making him the first African-American drafted by an NFL team.  He also passed away a few weeks ago.  My Bloomington bias is showing but come on man where's the love?

Playing basketball in middle and high school, I would scream all the time. I played the 4 or 5 so I was always working in the post, grabbing rebounds, bodying up driving guards (you used to be able to do that). In Indiana, where I played in middle school, it was normal to scream when you do these things. No idea why.…
