@highfloydelity: I assume it would be leaching. You would be leaching it from Voltage. Once you have it, or once you have connected to them, they have your IP address.

@taiso: From what I understand, Voltage downloaded the torrent themselves. Once they have the file, they continue to seed and record all of the IP addresses that connect to them to download the files. Then, they take those IP addresses to the ISP companies and ask for the customer info.

I really hope that someone who has the time and money refuses to settle and takes this to court. Maybe there will finally be a decision on the torrent issue as to what is reasonable compensation instead of these ridiculous, random numbers.
