Great stuff so far! good amount of nuance and subtle touches too. My biggest worry for the series is *spoilers for later stuff if you haven’t played the games*

You are definitely right in this statement, and I definitely agree that we will see some sort of shift in the next 10 or so years in the political center of the country. I’m afraid it won’t be much though and still be more back and forth tug of war rather than consistent improvement.

Unfortunately, I don’t think good guys are the norm generally speaking. You have the toxic full on assholes (frat bros and what not), the incels who want to be that but don’t have the looks/shitty drive to do it, the men who believe that women and men have different places because some outdated bullshit study said

Man, as a white person with some racist ass white family members, those motherfuckers absolutely looooooooooove quoting MLK. They do not love the man himself or anything he stood for, but they sure do love vomiting some MLK quotes onto Facebook.

Yeah I definitely think this is the answer. Ideally for me, an AC game would focus on maybe 3 big targets and much of the game would focus on you basically prepping for those. Some of that is sidequests to get better gear or get access to more convenient locations to assassinate them at (ideally with multiple options

I don’t know, it seems to have somewhat branching dialogue trees and story. You might not have quite as many dialog options in Cyberpunk as you might in Fallout or Skyrim, but I would say it has some, comparable to something like mass effect or dragon age (or Witcher obviously).

I mean, this game has all of the things you mention here. I am not sure why you are saying it does not apply? Multiple endings are unlocked only if you go through certain sidequests and complete them in a good way. There are multiple missions where decisions you make change the story and future missions. I am not sure

It’s really really good in my opinion! I think CDPR is a bad company and is chock full of some big issues, but I think the game (on PS5 for me) is pretty much excellent. With some quality of life improvements, and bug fixes (I have some crashes as well), it can get even better.

Yuuuuuuup. I went in further detail in my own (greyed) comment. But you sum it up pretty perfectly here.

My personal take is that the game itself is great. Mechanics and gameplay are honestly a lot better than I thought, particularly with gunplay, driving, and stealth. The RPG mechanics are very good (lots of branching options that are all reasonable and organic in how they alter the story). Skills and perks leave a

Not to mention that a lot of people in that thread were just commenting to say how the OP’s comparisons were ridiculous, not saying CP2077 was infallible and would be a perfect game. More so that it was far more likely to deliver on it’s promises and hype than No Man’s Sky. Although the launch has been very bad so

Your original comment then:

Honestly wondering if they should have just did the PC release now and delayed consoles to early next year where they could have gotten more time to optimize PS4 and Xbox One as well as release proper next gen versions for PS5 and Series X

Plus I’ve got pretty mixed feelings about it given the issues CDPR has with worker crunch and the somewhat concerning indicators of transphobia and racism that have been present in the promotional material for the game but gone unaddressed.

Yuuuuuuuuup. It’s real real bad. Mind boggingly bad. They knew what they were fucking doing with that shit.

Thank you! I didn’t expect such a compliment and I really appreciate it.

By the way, I want to say this is a super eloquent and reasoned post! I am super excited for this game myself but your points are all very valid and well said!

I mentioned the same above (hooray for gray!), but yeah you pretty much nailed everything on the head.

Just out of curiosity, are you saying Witcher 3 is objectively worse than DA:I, or that you just couldn’t get into it?

Hopefully not the evil floating eyeballs bad...
