It’s Southwest. They’re headquartered in Dallas for f*ck’s sake. They even just announced they were going back to the 30 people at a time cattle-call boarding procedure they used pre-pandemic.

Been in this situation, mostly because the newly-promoted manager didn’t want to do the... “managing” thing. You know, the primary f-cking job responsibility of someone with that pay/title ?
Agree absolutely. There are very few good reasons to garnish funds from a stimulus check (child support was one of the small number that came to mind).
Chimney starter FTW! Learned about those as an adult leader in Boy Scouts. Can’t keep hungry teenagers waiting, struggling to get charcoal lit. And no need for petroleum distillates :)
Well, maybe a bit of a hot take on my part, but if you aren’t paying your child support I don’t have any heartache with that being taken out of your stimulus check...
The only time regular old white dude me felt uncomfortable stopping anywhere in the U.S. was years ago in south Louisiana. Pulled in to a small town gas station off a little state highway to fill up and there was the most beautiful girl behind the counter. A real Cajun-French goddess. Then I noticed the several good…
I’m a big fan of McDormand and have definitely thought about living extended times during retirement as a nomad.
Café Bustelo is a great, everyday coffee if you like your coffee dark. So yeah, cool I guess (I don’t own a K-Cup machine, so others will have to review that part).

Texas chili has very little tomato sauce in it (really old-school recipes I’ve seen have none at all). The color comes from the dried red New Mexico, guajillo, or pasilla chiles used.
Heh, it’s hard for Texans to be “restrained” when talking about chili, BBQ, or Tex-Mex. 😂
We can agree to disagree on the taste thing. But everyone gets to like what they like, amirite? 😁 And the baking soda hack looks interesting, I’m gonna try it out.
Mmmm...I’m making this the next time I roast Brussels sprouts or broccoli!
OK, being a known Claire Lower fan-boy, I’m not going to criticize the idea of beans in chili (native Texan here, so I have opinions about a good Bowl of Red). But I will say that good beans, like pintos, should be cooked and served separately for people to add to their chili as they wish. This is as much for the…
Ummm...the “inventor” of the Internet was DARPA. Though if you’re looking for a person, I guess you could pick Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn who invented the TCP/IP protocols.

Catholics. The most judgy of all the Christers.
I was gonna say that they should investigate an Episcopal church, since many of our parishes are “all the catholic pageantry, but none of the guilt.” But even very welcoming Episcopal churches could be nervous about this (perfectly legitimate and harmless) line of work.
Except that every Spanish-speaking person of Hispanic origin I know finds “Latinx” to be (at the very least) a silly, Gringo invention. And many of them also find it to be disrespectful of their language and culture. So maybe not the best example.
That last section, “It’s also more inclusive” is precisely the problem, of course. Conservatives don’t want to include people they don’t approve of...
Elizabeth, we were right there with you up in the northern suburbs of Dallas. My pool had 2-3 in. of ice on it by Tue the 16th. One of my neighbors took a picture of himself standing in the middle of his pool. Yeah, I know, #FirstWorldProblems.
