If I’d done as many shitty things as him, I wouldn’t want my life story told either.

Is this the Misery Olympics? First comment was literally just “My heart breaks for Anne Heche, but it also breaks for these people as well”, and everyone after seems to just be like “WELL ACKTUALLY LOSING A HOUSE ISN’T BAD COMPARED TO DYING, YOUR HEART IS WRONG”.

Yes, that is true. It is also true that some people exhibit bad behavior and also have mental health issues, and those are two separate issues. Let’s not always conflate bad behavior with mental health issues, please.

Read it again: the car plowed literally through the entire downstairs of the house, almost exiting to the other side... then caught fire INSIDE the house, a fire which took an hour to put out. Their house is totaled. And it’s California, so I guarantee you this is, at best, if the home can be repaired, a situation

Fuck that. Drunk drivers are a goddamn menace. They destroy families. Call an Uber and don’t drive into somebody’s house.

It’s “ghoulish” to point out that people do, in fact, make terrible choices with cars that sometimes result in them murdering people?

Drunk driver manages not to kill anyone would be the better headline.

1000% it’s to avoid getting sued.  She’ll probably still get sued.

It’s such a vague term. How could we possibly guess who she means?

All the ladies love unscripted, “lean back” content

As far as the demographic skews go...

I guess home improvement, cooking, pimple popping and pseudoscience are generes now.

Disney+ and Netflix are laughing their asses off over all this: “Remember when we thought we had a serious third competitor? HAHAHAHA!!! Good times”...

What are “genredoms?” Discovery specializes in documentaries & reality shows, which are arguably more of a format than genre since they’re supposed to be non-fictional.

I think, at the time, the assumption was that the two streaming services would just be folded over. Not that Discovery would burn HBO Max/Warner Bros. to the ground and then slap the HBO Max name on Discovery+.

Discovery spending an obscene amount of money on the HBO and Warner brands just to run them into the ground

Why would any director with options choose to work with WB Discovery again after this? Maybe they would for a big payday but is a studio that is permenantly shelving nearly complete work for a tax writeoff really going to offer that?

Seems pretty obvious that they meant “critical to us” based on the second sentence. And I would imagine that being able to see a project come to fruition is critical for anyone who spends a lot of time working on a project.

also it’s fucking crazy that you can direct the biggest box office hit of 2020 AND a hit streaming show for disney+ and still have absolutely no leverage to get your movie even dumped out without promo.

The Scooby movie team also released a statement.

i posted this on the other one, but it rules that the SEC is so lax you can just do the producers for real now. more financial incentive to not release a movie than to release it, great for filmmakers and movie fans alike.
