Solidarity with Charlie Hedbo was about a terrorist attack. People think that “free speech” should not be met with horrific violence. There, mystery solved.

These “old grumpy guy” comedic acts are just boring. Chappelle, Gervais, Burr, etc...have passed their prime and are now just your drunk uncle whining over dinner about how they don’t understand the world anymore.

Oh boy, there’s a lot to unpack here.

I got sent this clip after the latest Dave Chappelle transphobic joke.  Its amazing I've never seen it before and it ages better after every Netflix special. 

Nobody’s saying the government should force him to be quiet, they’re using their free speech to call an asshole an asshole.

Sadly this does sort of seem true.

I agree, a better comic could take the subject matter and actually say something funny and interesting. In the Carlin doc he does a pretty extensive bit about how any topic can be funny. It’s not that the topic is off limits but you can only cross that line if it’s funny.  Neither of these guys has an interesting take…

Comedy for these big-name acts feels like it’s following some sort of horrible algorithm. Like, what topics can I talk about that would get me the most attention, good or bad? It’s a bit unsurprising then that Netflix would be the home for this sort of algorithmic comedy. I wouldn’t be half-surprised if the next big…

And oh shit, she hasn’t been able to give that money to charity amid being sued repeatedly by her ex. I forgot that defending yourself in multiple libel and defamation trials is totally free!

Todd in the Shadows actually looked into the legal aspects of it and he concluded that Depp was very much guilty.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to look at the actual legal aspects of this case being properly (i.e. the actual merits of both sides) as opposed to people treating it like a sporting event.
