Truly the “you can’t fire me, I quit!” of celebrity chefs leaving a city they were kicked out of for reprehensible behavior...
It was a Season 3 thing, when Georgiou was dying because she was from another universe and couldn’t remain in the Prime universe — Culber was talking with David Cronenberg’s character and he (Cronenberg) talked about another parallel universe visitor who was clearly from the Kelvin-verse...
I mean, it’s definitely not the Kelvin-verse since they snuck in they had a visitor from the Kelvin-verse in this universe (a la the Mirror Universe visitors) last year! (Also, I mean, they did Unification III so it’s definitely supposed to be Prime Universe Trek...)
It’s one of the top drama departments in the country! The list of alumni for movies, television, and theater is staggering!
Needed to bribe to get into college and... got into Carnegie Mellon anyway? Jeez...
Yeah, I’d just finished catching up on the modern incarnation of Who before the anniversary I believe (my then-girlfriend/now-wife wanted me to watch), and had enjoyed (largely) what I’d seen — but the cliffhanger at the end of “The Name of the Doctor” promised something insane (‘cause... John Hurt!) and “The Day of…
Look at the dates, my dude! This is a recycled list, where they added it from last year’s list (where it was not)... (but I give you that -- they do this all the time, so it’s super easy to miss it!)
In re: the Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan book — it’s not surprising there’s so much BTS stuff and that Meyer was supportive; he was a Paramount studio guy, and was doing “odd jobs” (and writing assignments) around the studio before he started breaking more officially into the business.
Utz now has a line called “TORTIYAHS!” which are surprisingly good.
Should probably be on the list there...
I think we know for sure, though, that it is true at places like Costco? I think it’s been confirmed that the smoked salmon is just ACME but sold under Costco / Kirkland, or that diapers are like Huggies or something? And that’s true for a lot of the Kirkland items at Costco...
They’ll all be glowing reviews. All the weird nerds defending Tesla won’t ever admit a car they paid probably a hundred grand to their god for was anything but perfect.
Yeah, I know most people will go to Rocky (well deserved) but for me it’s always Back to School...
I would absolutely pay $22 for a top-end cacio e pepe. It’s a simple recipe but it’s an extremely difficult recipe to perfect.
100%.
Eat shit, Bobby. I hope we never hear from you again after December.
I forgot those two and I wholeheartedly agree!
Yeah, agreed — I mean it’s all short-hand right; streaming is going to have duds and aggregate itself, and a 14% b/e deal on a net deal is going to be $0 vs. 14% on a gross deal making money even if it’s a dud...
I’m still working on brisket (as a quasi-lapsed Jew it’s complicated!) but I just did a fantastic one for Rosh Hashanah, and I need to work on smoking next — but typically my sandwiches would be whatever leftover brisket I had, make garlic-bread portuguese rolls (or similar), caramelize onions, and sandwich. Sometime…
