did you see “trapped”? there’s an infuriating but hilarious scene where a doctor is talking to a patient and says, “i’m required by the state to tell you that having an abortion increases your risk of breast cancer. there is no scientific proof of that.”

she wouldn’t necessarily have chosen abortion had she gone to a different kind of clinic. pro-choice clinics not only provide abortion services, but have a social worker on hand to help these women navigate the world (including helping obtain public benefits, jobs, etc.). i think the big focus is on the “disappearing”…

unfortunately, this is just anecdotal, and i can’t provide any sources.

right. i would also say that these liberation movements are all kind of tied into each other. gandhi co-opted american revolutionary ideas. MLK jr co-opted bits of that. it’s about using what works for a cause that matters to you...

a local muslim group tried to align with BLM after the shootings of three muslims in north carolina and BLM basically was like, “that’s not really our problem.” so we can talk about intersectionality in BLM as an ideal, but it’s not really happening for non-black muslims.

but they’re NOT decent people, which is the point i was trying to make (unsuccessfully). if they shifted their support to another candidate, i wouldn’t support that person either. it’s as much about them (for me anyway) as it is about him.

i hate trump, but i also hate his supporters and they are definitely a factor in why i’ll never support trump, ya know? you’re a sum of all your parts.

except that’s not who she was calling super predators. she was calling gang members who were selling crack “superpredators”, a term coined by the FBI.
