Yup.  Not only does the fact that you can smoke much longer on a single pod/refill than you can on a single cigarette mask how much you’re really smoking, but the fact that people feel much more free to vape indoors than they do smoke means they don’t have to set down what they’re doing to get their nicotine fix.

Hmmm. You mentioned “common sense” and yet you admit to smoking for 20 years and now vape. JS.

Nicotine itself increases your risk for heart disease, heart attack, and stroke. PSA

I was literally just talking about these vaping illnesses. They did no research about what this could do to people, and yet they marketed it as a safe alternative. The processes they use to make the vape oils, juices, whatever you want to call it involve more chemicals, why anyone would think it’s safer, I don’t know.

If you’re vaping, I wouldn’t say you’ve quit smoking . . .

Yeah, funny how rich white guys never suffer consequences for being terrible at things. It’s almost as if being insanely wealthy has less to do with actual talent and more to do with who your parents were and dumb luck.

And Stafford is the best QB the Lions have had since Eric Hipple.

Dom, while I appreciate the acknowledgment about the Lions, and equally obvious hot take would be to proclaim that the sun is pretty fucking hot. That said, here is the list of STARTING QUARTERBACKS for the Lions during their impressive run of absolute futility:

That’s the worst methodology I’ve ever heard. I say thru the absolutely miserable eagles years where they compared to the Lions and I’d take watching winning and going deep in the playoffs every time over a team that has zero hope year in and year out. On and there’s that pesky fact that they won the super bowl 2

I think the NFL should institute a rule that any team that goes 0-16 is immediately confiscated and sold to the first random person who walks down the street for whatever spare change they have in their pocket.

I was leaning heavily towards the Bills for losing Super Bowls 25 through 28, but being the first team to go 0-16 is indeed a special kind of shitty that should've forced them to be contracted out of a professional league.

Yeah, Dom, we usually get kicked in the balls on SUNDAY, not Monday!

As a Lions fan, I’d argue that our peak was finally winning a game after then 0-16 season against Washington. I celebrated like we won the damn Super Bowl that day.

I honestly considered going this route and including the Chiefs, Chargers, Vikings, and Falcons as candidates. Though not the Eagles, obviously, since I’m a firm believer in the five-year rule, which forbids any fan from complaining for five years after a title.

“I’m sure some pedant in the comments will lecture me about the underappreciated exploits of Joe Schmidt or whoever.”

Counterpoint: I gave them up after 2008 and have had meaningful, fulfilling falls since then.

You forgot to mention the latest Lions indignity, when the Colts had the opportunity to reclaim bonus money to their generational offensive talent who retired unexpectedly they said “Keep it, thank you for everything!” If that pill popping fail-son can do the right thing, why can’t my team.

I was born and raised in south Detroit and have been a Lions fan my whole life. My parents were from Cleveland, so that was the option I could have taken. I still question whether I made the right decision.

My dad will be 60 next month, I’m pretty sure he’s accepted he will NOT see this team win a Super Bowl. At 34, I’m not optimistic I’ll see any post season success either.

“The Lions won the NFL championship three times between 1952 and 1957. Since then, 18 head coaches have guided them into this never-ending pit of despair.”
