“I’d rather people get hurt than get rich” is an early leader for next year’s Worst Take of the Year award.

I think that quip more stands from the fact that they just grabbed another domestic coach instead of looking abroad to snag a flashy hire from one of the European leagues. Although, with how well that worked last time, I see why maybe they went in a different direction.

He’s skinny, not dead.

But I guess when you stop playing they forget how you lead

I actually think Manny Machado would be the perfect fit for this team. The White Sox desperately need an infusion of personality and Sox fans would both completely embrace his villainy and endlessly complain about his lack of hustle. With the impending fire sale in Cleveland, AL Central could be wide open...

DeLeon sails high, helps Columbus. Time is a circle.

I totally feel your pain. As a DC United supporter since MLS’ inception, those original teams were great. And I kind of feel like MLS has dicked over a lot of the original teams in favor of newer, flashier teams, especially those with connections to clubs in other leagues (e.g. NYCFC). Beyond the Northwestern teams,

The absolute lack of loyalty of MLS to its oldest teams continues to baffle me. In New York and Los Angeles, marquee teams struggled to attract fan bases and eventually did well enough to win publicly-financed stadia in their cities’ suburbs. However, because the league is now wealthier and more popular (often because
