I went to the University of Alabama, and UA’s enrollment has exploded since they hired Saban. There are a ton of northern frat boy types who want to go to college in the South, and so the school benefits financially by having a very active Greek life that attracts these out-of-staters who pay almost double the tuition…

They donate after graduation -- they’re networks of people who are full of themselves and feel really connected to the university and therefore are extended networks of reliable donors.
